What mark will this generation make upon the world? How does God want to use you? Join uni students from all over Queensland at Student Life's Mid Year Conference this July to consider these questions, and be encouraged and challenged as you enjoy 6 days of Bible teaching, practical training and heaps of fun. Held in the beautiful Gold Coast Hinterland at Mt Tamborine, MYC is a great opportunity to learn from God's Word and get a broader vision of how He is seeking to involve you in His plan for this world during your time at uni. It is also an ideal way for you to get connected to new friends. Our time at Mt Tamborine this year promises to be full of thought provoking challenges, personal growth and plenty of fun. Key Details
When: Tuesday 30th June - Sunday 5th July 2009
A Note from John NorthKeynote SpeakerDear MYCers, I can’t wait for MYC! It’s always one of the highlights of my year to share this time with you. This year our theme focuses on the role of God’s Holy Spirit in our lives. There is probably nothing more important for a Christian to understand than this topic, so I am extra excited about this year. The Bible says, “Walk by the Spirit and you will not carry out the desires of your sinful nature.”
Many of us struggle to live the Christian life, not realising that the Christian life is impossible to live unless the Holy Spirit is enabling us. Or we are fighting a losing battle with our sinful desires because we think it is up to us to overcome them, when in reality the inner battle with those desires is fought by the Holy Spirit within us. What does it mean to be in step with the Spirit, filled with the Spirit, empowered by the Spirit? How can I connect with the Spirit of God? These are not just theological questions—they are how the Christian life works and we must come to grips with them if we want our lives to count and if we want to grow in our relationship with God. John North. Registration has now closed.
